I was discussing this with OH this morning, having read the Daily Mail article yesterday, I said perhaps I need to carry something like a pepper spray with me when I'm out with just Lucy. I think I'm safer when Gus is there because he looks quite threatening and I doubt anyone would come too close, but Lucy and I sometimes go for extra walks together and of course, she looks (and is) very friendly. Ron always carries a large walking stick but I find it cumbersome, so perhaps a spray would be a better idea.  |

I carry a mini-size aerosol deodorant with me, either in my handbag or pocket or doggy bum bag!

It isn't just numbers of police, it's the willingness to respond to call outs! And then the CPS needs to deem it 'in the public interest'.
