I didn't know that - interesting. The idea is good in principle for the welfare of the dogs of course, but you are right Jacqui, it would need an enormous police force to enforce it! I guess most dog owners already walk their dogs for at least an hour a day anyway.

I believe that's already law in Sweden?

"A spokeswoman for the agriculture ministry said it was very unlikely private dog owners would receive police visits to check whether they had taken their pooch for a walk. She said the emphasis would be on ensuring that dogs kept in kennels were treated well."
Sad world when we need legisalation to ensure pets are treated properly ...
Wonder why the Beeb felt to illustrate the news item with 2 firm teutonic btms??

Wonder why the Beeb felt to illustrate the news item with 2 firm teutonic btms?? Okay, looked up "btms" (like a nosy woman does), and found this: Acronym Definition BTMS Brake Temperature Monitoring System (Aircraft) BTMS Brier Terrace Middle School (Washington) BTMS Battalion Training Management System BTMS Battery Thermal Management System BTMS Body Temperature Measuring System BTMS Be The Movie Star (online casting community) BTMS Bromotrimethylsilane (chemistry) BTMS Business Technology Management Systems (Cyprus) I guess you don't mean any of the above? I know what teutonic means, and I know both breeds shown originated from Germany, but I am at a loss for the abbreviation?

6 hour rule?? Would be sort of okay if there is 2 people looking after a dog (as with us), but if you are on your own it might be difficult? Even with the two of us, Axel has a break of 7!!! hours between walks at night time (last walk at about 10:30 pm (hubby) and the first walk in the morning about 5:30-6 am (me). During daytime we would not break Swedish law, lol.

To be honest, I wasn't far off that with Dempsey. He would have his first walk around 7am, a lunchtime walk at about 1pm (ish) and then a late walk anywhere between 8pm & 11pm.
