Here are my two having a play fight - they really do play well together. An action shot which was taken on the off chance but actually turned out quite well.

They are both lovely Great shot!!! Is one of them more dominant, or are they equals?

They are both lovely Great shot!!! Is one of them more dominant, or are they equals? I think Gus just about has the edge over Lucy. He is the one that decides when she has to vacate 'his' chair and he quite often moves her off her own bed so that he can have it! Obviously there's no speaking involved but it is often very obvious to see some sort of telepathic conversation going on!

That is so similar to how the dobi and the shep interacted. Oddly, the dobi always got her way, possibly because we had her before the shep, and she was more "established" than the shep? They got on exremely well but Lola always gave in at the end, funny to watch :0

German Shepherds know how to play don't they . They can appear quite viscous if you don't realise its normal fun play for them. When I brought home a Bull Mastiff Izzy my lovely quiet girl decided play was in order to greet him into his new home. She promptly put him on his back and had him by the throat . It was her way of saying welcome but I am in charge and they continued playing and became great friends for nearly 10 years.

When on group walks I do let them play like that but I keep a very close eye on them as in a flash it can escalate into more than play, so I stop it just before that happens.

Absolutely I make sure that it doesn't get too rough and to be fair I can never remember an occasion when it did. I only let them play amongst themselves in the Garden and more often or not it includes me running around with them.

Lucy has a best friend at daycare, his name is Zeus and he's a very fluffy Pyrenean. She dives at him, grabs a mouthful of his mane and tries to pull him down! Sounds worse than it is, when you actually see it, it's quite funny because Zeus is going nowhere and nothing Lucy does has any effect on him whatsoever! He's so laid back, he's almost horizontal!
