I had a lady on the beach tell me that he wasn't a German Shepherd because his eyes are too light....what are your thoughts on this?

Varies dog to dog - I've known some sheps with _very_ light eyes. I'll try and get some pix of Buddy - he's a silver and black |

Eyes are often lighter if the coat colour around them is paler. As for not being a GSD because of eye colour - what a plonker!  Honestly, why can't people mind their own business? |

My west German Show line had very dark eyes but the present pup being a red sable has slightly lighter eyes. Pete there are so many 'experts' out on the streets nowadays it usually starts with I bet he has bad hips. Dickheads the lot of them. Caryll wanted to say dickheads but she is such a lady.  Pay no mind to what people may say especially on the beach, they are the worst kind. |

Also if his coat colour is 'dilute' (blue/liver/...) that could have an effect on eye colour |

Just had another look at your latest picture and Im afraid she was right. Definite cockapoo in him haha...........or possibly Chihuahua! I do ignore a lot of peoples comments but this one stuck in my head for some reason?! Thankyou for all your replies.....you have set my mind at ease!
I weighed him the other day and he is at 45lb (im not good at working with these new fangled kg thingies!)

oh hes gonna catch up to my Luna! shes currently 59lb so a bit on the small side at 8 months I think (need to go check the chart again lol) and I love his eye colour its very handsome |
