He's a lovely-looking boy - super face !! It used to be a fairly popular training method to tether a new pup to yourself so that it followed you round the house - don't seem to hear it so much nowadays??

Hi and thanks - he is my world Not heard about the tether bit - this is just me wanting to show off my project to the family. I got my sons friend to model it for me so I could take pics lol. I am quite proud of my little invention. I got the back lead to fall across my bum so if he pulled (usually to greet another dog), it would act like a pully (he is so strong now that on occasion pulled the lead from my hand a few times). The front lead falls across my thighs so that by turning away from Milo it gently pulls him in that direction. With my hands-free, I am able to encourage with treats and generally makes life easier. As the pics were taken just a few weeks ago they are the most recent ones I have of Milo. Do you know the purpose of tethering a pup to you around the house? you have got me curious

Shepherds don’t need to be trained to be with you, just the opposite but I’m getting what you mean. Looks like a set of women’s suspenders...I’m all in favour of that.

Milo is certainly a lovely boy, so is his friend. Thanks . We met Flow out on a walk when they were just pups and became fast friends. Walked them every night together since until recently (Flow is having her first season - so waiting till she is out to resume). Milo has even tried to kidnap her on occasion pulling her paw to come with us when we part at the end

Milo is so handsome! That's great he has pretty Flow to play with. Your leash is a wonderful idea and gives more options than a plain waist hands free leash. I use tethering. It is helpful during housetraining to catch any accidents and prevent the sneaking away into a corner and peeing. And the same way for a young dog in the chewing phase. When he's tethered to you he can't decide to snack on the furniture when you are distracted and can't watch him. It also helps in teaching a dog to be calm in your presence and not expect attention.

Thanks, Marybeth it was puppy love at first sight Tethering sounds really useful and wish I had known about it when Milo was younger - will definitely keep it in mind for future pups

Lovely boy. Clever invention too 😀. Yes I’d read about tethering particularly for housetraining. I get fed up with not having a pee in peace as it is tho 🙈😂

I hate sowing and this took 8 hrs to make so not looking forward to it. Thinking if it works as good for her dog as it did for Milo, I will look at how much it will be to have made
