Malathi is my 14 weeks old girlie with a bit of attitude at the moment. Love her to bits though. It has been nearly 5 years since I lost my girl Shamika (profile pic) and felt the time was right as I have had a horrendous 4 years. 6 weeks after losing her we lost our cat of 19 years. I then lost my husband in 2020. She is certainly keeping me on my toes.

Thank you, she does have her moments but looks can be deceiving.

I love those ears! What a real looker she is! She'll certainly keep you occupied, how does the cat feel about her?

Beautiful ❤️❤️ I love other folks' puppies - you can say 'that was nice, you can have her back now ...' Stick with it, we can tell you now that you've got a lot of hard work coming - but if you put the right stuff in you'll reap the benefits a thousandfold ====== It's lovely that you've added an attachment with your picture, but attachments eat into our very limited file space. However, we leave access to attachments available so that new members can post their first pix easily. Assuming your pix are on your fone, the easiest way to share them on the forum is using the (free) Tapatalk app www.tapatalk.com/download_free_tapatalk.phpThat way, the pix are stored on Tapatalk's servers rather than ours. As a bonus, they show much bigger in messages and you don't need to open them in a separate window If your pix are on Facebook/Google Photos/Imgur/... or other pic sharing sites, you can add them using the button in the Forum Message Editor, just click it and paste in the picture URL. Similarly, videos need to be on Youtube and are added to the forum with the button.

He is getting there, slowly. They are separated at the moment but only by a sheet of perspex at the door. They can interact with one another and the cat is now starting to tease her. He rolls about on the floor close to her and he can still escape if she gets too boisterous. He is still young too so shouldn't be too long before they are together. Going to be fun I think.

They never grow up in my experience. The laptop I used to create this post is in S mode so won't allow me to download 'tapatalk' but I will use my other laptop for photos in the future. Thanks for the info regarding this.

She is absolutely adorable! I am sure her and the cat will get along fine in the end. When we still had cats, we took our last shep out for walks, and one of the cats sometimes came along on the walks, it actually loked quite funny!

They did get on in the end so these 2 will eventually. She is still very hyper at the moment but at least it is not freaking the cat out too much.

We use a baby gate (acroos the kitchen so that they've still got cat-flap access) , to acclimatise new dogs. We got Tasha as a 2-ish-yr-old rescue, took me 6 months to get her guaranteed 'safe' with our existing dog-savvy cat, lot's of sitting by the gate saying, '_gently_, she's not a toy - she's my friend, ...'. Later, we got Zena at 6 weeks old - they've loved each other ever since

I've always taught my dogs to befriend any animal that they meet - dogs, foxes, reindeer, ...

btw, there's a baby gate across the bedroom, too - Tasha wasn't allowed to initiate play with Zena until she grew much bigger. Zena's 6 now (and over 3k), they still play - tho' it can get a bit random now that Tasha's blind. Zena uses the kitchen furniture as a foil if she needs to, but her favourite is to ambush T in the garden
