I suppose, on the whole, we're okay. We know it was the 'right' thing to do, but that doesn't stop the guilt or the broken hearts.

No way you should be feeling guilty, Caryll - no-one could have tried harder.
It's the 'sudden' ones that hit hardest - I loved Charley to bits, yet we knew what was coming. But I cried for weeks over Ozzy.

I know. Everything everyone says is so right.
But I think Badger was my last dog. I don't think I have that sort of fortitude for another.
I would love to be able to pass on knowledge/experience & I will do so. But Badger was my last boy. I've honestly had enough.

His ashes came back yesterday. The company were absolutely marvelous. Respectful & sympathetic.
He's home.

I still have Aides ashes even though I said I would scatter them over Hylands park at her favourite pool. In reality she is guarding my clothes in my wardrobe, she needed to stay with me. Whatever you decide to do will be the right way for you. FB will no doubt remind you of the many posts you have made with Badger and it will be a reminder of how wonderfully well you cared for that little monkey.

That’s the great thing about this forum obviously I know how you feel
It’s raw with me still
But you made the right decision……and it was hard but he’s up there now in a better place and at peace we are all here for you 😢🙂
