Hubby watched a programme about the Shard, and he said one car that was parked in an "unfortunate" location actually melted. Tall buildings are space-saving, but not really a good idea....

The Shard's amazing to go to the observation platform, tho' - did it for one of my birthdays

The Walkie Talkie building in Fenchurch Street had a 'solar glare' problem where the sun's reflection was causing temperatures at street level to raise to around 91 degrees and in some cases, as much as 117 degrees! They've now installed a permanent awning to deflect the rays!
