The PBB need doggy blood donors, especially those breeds that are DEA 1 negative - see list of applicable breeds (yes GSDs are on it) at this website - www.petbloodbankuk.org

It's a really worthwhile thing to do.
Unfortunately Badger wouldn't be eligible - he's on medication & there's no way he would stay still!

Gus is too old now, he's 9 in March and Lucy is a GSD cross Border Collie- they are both on the list but I wonder if being a cross would make a dfference? I would have thought that having the right blood type is more important than breeding, but perhaps it's not that simple!

Tasha probably is - I read through the whole thing, and, apart from not being on meds at all (as far as I understand it), a nervous dog should not apply, a dog who is wary of strangers (Axel sort of, depends on the type of stranger if you know what I mean) should not apply, and so on and so on. That does not leave very many dogs that are suitable, especially given the age range as well. To me, Lucy sounds like the ideal candidate, as she is a very friendly dog from what I have read, but who knows, they may not allow cross breeds either.

Thats Vinny's blood that's going to stay in his veins then. He seems to have everything against him giving blood.

I'm pretty sure that breed doesn't come into it, other than some breeds being more likely to have a certain type of blood.
