Well, we knew this would happen. On our local rescue website, plus our very local branch of the Dog's Trust, most of the dogs are around a year to 18 months old, it's such a shame! www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-wales-59008703

I am utterly dismayed and disgusted, but sadly not in the least bit surprised.

Sad to say it was predictable, wasn't it? Those poor pups.

Indeed predictable. Why do people do this? What is the point in getting a puppy when they have no interest in animals whatsoever as such? I presume these people just wanted "company" or a "cuddly toy" during lockdown. What is wrong with them? They should take up knitting instead. I presume it might be the same sort of people who decide "having a child" is a good idea to "fix things". Attitudes like that really annoy me to say the least, no consideration of consequences, total selfishness. I sort of blame today's society, everything so readily available at the touch of a button, when I was young, it was not quite as easy to get a pet.

Because it's a 'possession’. Not a living, sentient being.
I feel so sad that I am part of a race that has no perception of sentience.

Allegedly the sequence goes:
* Try to sell on Gumtree (or whatever);
* When this fails, report to rescue as a 'found stray' (so they can't have been chipped).
