I've just been reading about this, it's great that she can do her job again. I taught my very first GSD, Shady, signals after she went deaf. She handled it very well and lived a very happy life to about 14 and a half years!

Awww, brilliant. It's amazing how dogs can adapt.

There used to be a woman came to 'our' park who bred Old English Sheepdogs to show. She eventually bred the 'perfect' puppy and couldn't show it off enough. Until (at about 6 months) she realised it was deaf - it was _so_ smart it had been reading her body language and responding as required After that, she couldn't give it away quickly enough ... People like that shouldn’t be allowed to keep dogs IMHO.
