Regularising Microchip Databases

With the current consultation taking place on the compulsory microchipping of cats, and the Pets (Microchips) Bill being introduced, I thought it was important that as an end user of the microchip databases, the people 'in charge' needed to understand what was needed for an efficient and effective system. There is no point introducing new laws when the tools used to monitor them need more stringent and uniform specifications. This would save the arguments from many stakeholders, such as the veterinary profession, that compulsory scanning of pets was not always practical.
