This makes my blood boil, that poor dog who has done absolutely nothing wrong, just discarded for a new puppy who will no doubt be dumped at some point too. These people should be prosecuted snd not allowed to keep animals. I truly hope that poor dog finds a new loving home before long

How anyone can just get rid of a dog that has been with them (presumably) for a long time is beyond me! That poor dog will be so confused. Nasty, horrible people.

I saw the same article and I was disgusted.
NEVER. EVER. NEVER.
My ex-husband and I have talked at length about it as he has our Golden who is now 10 and a half and getting on in the years. He talked about maybe getting a puppy before Samson walks across the rainbow bridge but I pointed out to him how Sam has been his baby from the very start and is so spoiled and indulged and how would Sam feel being "retired" for a new baby all of the sudden when he needs his human the most? (Not re-homed but placed on a back burner as would be necessary).
I think there are 2 kinds of people: People who love and understand animals and people who love things. The things people sometimes take on animals and forget they are not things so cannot understand them. The understanding people cannot accept the concepts presented by the things people and want to beat them with a whip.
My ex-husband and I talked just today about the "brothers" and their futures and what to do. They have 4 years of age separating them but Samson is more lithe these days. We have decided to just enjoy the best days and protect against the worst and love them as much as we can every moment we can because we know how much they love us.
Also, he knows I will make him adopt a rescue next time. He said there is no point in even trying to argue with me. I'm a zealot.
