Maybe you could start to leave the door closed, but not locked? Sooner or later you're going to have to trust him.
If he can get out, walk around and then go back when he's happy, maybe he'll settle more?

My wee pup is now 8 months, where has my tiny boy went 😠photos.app.goo.gl/9AnZALV9jskotB65AOn a side note, over the last few weeks he's been picking st his kibble and isn't interested in it at all anymore although he wolfs down his wet food. We currently feed the ava kibble and the natures diet tins, on the tins it says its a completed balanced meal so would wet food alone be sufficient if he isn't interested in kibble. Obviously I'd increase the amount of wet food I'd give him if not giving kibble.

Wow, look at him now - gorgeous. Regarding the wet food, if it says it is complete it should be OK. I feed Gus raw and one of the brands can be a bit mushy so I like to make sure he has something to chew on now and then to help clean his teeth, he loves his Nylabone and the occasional pigs ear! Have you thought about trying him on a different brand of kibble?

Have you thought about trying him on a different brand of kibble? Thank you, he's all fluffy tonight as was at the groomers today. Got told he was an angel while there, I thought she was kidding as he's been a wee doggydoodoo recently 😂 Yeah I was looking into it earlier to see what one to try just to even get a small bag out. I've been holding off for a few weeks incase it was just a phase but he's getting worse. The wet tins definitely say complete on it though, just wasn't sure if that would be sufficient for him.

The wet food is certainly sufficient - in the UK they're not allowed to put the word 'complete' on the packaging unless it's up to a certain standard.
As you say, though, you're likely to need to feed more because it's about 75% water. What about the trays instead of the cans? They tend to be less 'wet' than tins.
I think nature diet food is in cartons now? Dempsey used to eat it before he went raw & it was pretty good, ingredients-wise.

Millies Wolfheart tins are not very moist. All are firm and need cutting up but some different flavours will be softer than others such as the Salmon and veg and the Turkey and veg. Vinny is having 3 tins a day plus his training treats. Sometimes he doesn't want a meal and I let that go as he is now up to weight and missing a meal will regulate that. This is a complete food so will be all he needs. This is what he has: www.millieswolfheart.co.uk/river12-country12-tracker12-game12-12salm-12turk This works out at £1.30 a can which is pretty good for a quality food with no gluten, grains, rice, white potato, chicken, eggs, beet pulp, artificial colours and preservatives. In other words it hasn't got all the things that dogs can react to. www.millieswolfheart.co.uk/aboutJust a note to say I do not have any business connections with MW. Years ago when they started out we were saying 'I wonder what it's like' so I bit the bullet, bought some, and did a small report on their kibble. It was great and my last girl loved it almost too much. Now Vinny has his throat problems he is on the tinned food so that he can swallow it more easily.

Thanks everyone. It's natures menu actually not natures diet. It was my lab that was on the natures diet so I get the 2 mixed up. He seems to enjoy the natures menu so may persevere with that to see how he goes with it. He just turns his nose up at the kibble now 😂
