Oh, wow, that's awful.
The poor man's injuries sound quite severe. I know it doesn't say what breed the two attacking dogs were, but what's the betting they were 'type'.

Apparently the lab's owner tried to shield his dog by crouching over him ?? Not the protective strategy I'd use - I'd feel well justified dealing out physical force if it were my dog ...

Ron carries quite a large walking stick when he comes out with us - it came in very handy years ago when our Max was attacked as a very young dog by an enormous out of control American Bulldog! He waved the stick about a bit and I think had to score a couple of hits! The owner did nothing!
