Erm,
Yes I agree, although I did buy mine without seeing the pup in person.
However, the breeder was recommended to me by a respected breeder. I was in contact with the breeder in Germany before the mating took place and all through the pregnancy.
I received daily videos from the breeder and had to send pictures of where the pup will live and answer a lot of questions.
The breeder did invite me to stay with her for a week, so that I could meet the dam and puppies but I could not go.
We still keep in touch and she always asks about Kaio and how she's getting on with her hips. She also offered me another pup, free of charge but I declined her offer.
Although, if you read my first posts, you'll see that I had a difficult time getting the pup here but that was the transport company and not the breeder.
Therefore, it can be done but I would caution people to be very vigilant and to build up trust with the breeder and also ask to be put in contact with previous buyers.
Having said that, if I were to purchase another here, then I would definitely go in person. 😁

Yes, I remember reading the thread. I think your situation was quite different to the incidents mentioned in the article. It reads as though the prospective owners did not think it through properly at all! There are some very silly people out there!  |

Buying from a well researched & recommended breeder is totally different.

I don't choose puppies, but rescues - I believe there needs to be a bond when you meet the 'right' dog. Isn't it the same for puppies??

It always has been with me. The only pup I didn't 'choose' was my 2nd Border Collie, and that was only because I had my heart set on a pup from those particular parents, and there was only one bitch pup left. She was a real beauty, though, and she came straight to me when I went to see her.
All the others I've been lucky enough to be able to choose from 3 or 4 pups & I've gone by instinct.
