A woman has saved a dog from drowning, in the River Trent, a large rock was in a bag tied to the dogs lead.
The look in the poor dogs eyes as the dog lays on the vets table is just so upsetting, I try to avoid the news now for this reason then it turns up on facebook.
Hope the poor dog makes a full recovery and finds a loving home.

I couldn't believe what I was reading when I saw this on the BBC website yesterday. Poor dog, how lucky that she was rescued. There's obviously something dreadfully wrong with the mind of a person that thinks this an acceptable way of disposing of an animal. These days there are rescue centre of virtually every corner, there is no reason for this to happen.

So sad, brings tears to my eyes.
I don't understand people like that - but to be honest, I don't want to. If I UNDERSTOOD it, I'd be as bad as them!

You know, this is why I have a rescue cat from Greece. I knew what happened to animals there and I will never forget the image of a bitch carrying her drowned puppy around a village for 3 days until it could no longer be carried. I was so grateful I had learned of a local charity on the island where I worked just months before I worked there due to a documentary so I could save my cat. I wish I could have saved her siblings. I have no idea what happened to them and I cannot bear to think of it.
How you treat animals says so much about your soul. I believe that.

Saw a video of Bella eating some food, good to see her standing up and eating well.

Sounds like she'll recover.
She's a lovely looking dog, so she should get a fur-ever home.
