Oslo, the first area where the dog illnesses were reported, is only 3 hours away from where I live in Sweden. There have not yet been cases reported in Sweden and they have not yet banned dogs from Norway from entering Sweden but the illness seems to be spreading quite rapidly in Norway. www.newsinenglish.no/2019/09/06/mysterious-fatal-dog-illness-spreads/

Unsubstantiated: "recent cases in the UK were linked to a new pet food."

How awful - it's as though they've been poisoned, isn't it?

Unsubstantiated: "recent cases in the UK were linked to a new pet food." You can never trust a comment section to be source critical. It's worse than seeking relationship advice from the wall of a public loo

The Swedish Kennel Club has advised against travel to Norway. There is a local case here from a dog that was competing in Norway.

It's pretty scary, especially as that's roughly how Parvovirus started here in the UK. There were a few cases of an unknown, fatal virus & then suddenly it seemed to be everywhere!

Clostridium perfringens and Providencia alcalifaciens were found in several autopsies - both of these can be food related transmission.
So, basically, a horrible form of food poisoning. But where the food poisoning is coming from, they haven't worked out yet. I think they're trying to find a common source - let's hope they find one quickly.

I wonder if there is an issue at the raw food production company Vom og Hundemat (Offal and dog food). They serve raw with mixed nutrients, cooked egg and such. I had Buddy on their food briefly until he went off offal.
The Swedish case was a bad gut and not the same ailment. There is a Danish case but not sure how that has gone.
