When my Dad was in a hospice, Charley couldn't work out why he wasn't at home with my Mum. We went to visit him in the animal friendly hospice, after that Charley was happy he knew what my Dad was. My Dad could remember Charley (who rested his head in Dad's lap and gazed up at him) when he could remember very little else ...

Welling up, such a sad story, just tells you that animals sometimes make more of an impact than people, your dad must have loved Charley very much!

That's so sweet. Animals can 'sense' things we can't, and seem to have a way of accepting the inevitable.
