... Bucky ... my 1 1/2 day rescue who went back after biting Teresa. I’ve since found out he is happy with a guy on the farm where he can be with the owner 100% of the time ... That's terrific news, CChris

That would have been Vigil in Guildford ?? Yes, that's it, I couldn't remember until you said. Mike from Vigil gave a friend of CChris'n'me a pair of Utonagans to foster - without any information that they're not _quite_ like other dogs

Again, nice looking dogs I expect.

I always thought that Utonagans are friendly and intelligent, but just a bit boisterous? And why did the friend take on the dogs without having a little search into the breed in the first place? Obviously he should have been given information from the centre, but I would have had a look myself as well. I think I know Brian's point of view regarding rescues, but is it not extremely difficult to turn a rescue dog "around" so to speak? I always thought it would be easier to have a dog from pup and train it properly, but I am not averse to the idea of having a rescue per se, I am just thinking if the dog has been mistreated or neglected, will it not take an awful lot of time to get it to trust a person again? It must be worthwhile in the end, but harder than having a pup???

These two opened kitchen windows and let themselves out to run round the village !! She was new to rescue then (ran a rescue herself eventually) and I think she got guilt-tripped into taking them, and they were less than upfront about problems they'd been having with them Not all rescues are 'troubled' - some are given up for genuine reasons, 'owner died or became ill and other family can't take them ...' is common, plus the folks who dump pets when babies come along and so on ... It's perfectly possible to get a pretty much fully-trained companion who'll fit in after a bit of TLC, tho' often the kind of folk who'll dump they're puppy 'cos it's difficult' prob'ly didn't pay much attention to early training, either ... I don't choose problem dogs, I choose dogs who 'click' when we meet and we work it out from there. It wasn't completely apparent what a mess Tasha was 'til a few days in - I'd promised we wouldn't return her by then And she's _very_ rewarding - she came to music again last night, spent half the time sitting next to me as I played, kissing my face

Not yet - I think most folk stumble across our music by accident, it's not heavily promoted.

Playing at alternating venues doesn't help, but we are getting a small following. I keep meaning to make a FB group, so that we can post venues and so on.

Even though he is only a pup??? Sounds great to me, see what the "higher power" has to say - I have got a driving licence but I do not really drive unless absolutely necessary (ie never). When are the next dates?

Tube journeys are good for pups Roughly, we're at the Golden fleece on Fridays from around 9pm - except for the 2nd and last Fridays when we're at the Tap. It's only loose, tho' - other venue bookings may mean we're shifted about. Since we play for free, no-one gives a second thought to messing us about ... This Friday 26th, we're at the Tap - 8pm start, since there's a band formed from some of our members going to play 8 to 9, then we'll play our usual stuff. 3rd May we're at the Fleece, afaik BTW, is Axel old enough for a group walk yet ??

Tube journeys are good for pups? Would all the noises not get Axel frightened? We never took our previous dogs on the tube, but our son took Lola (the shep) once to show one of his friends who was frightened of dogs that even big dogs can be loving and friendly. When he came back with Lola, he said she was okay on the tube, but by then she was fully grown. BTW, mission completed, his friend is no longer afraid of dogs Maybe I should start Axel two stations up or down from our local station before we embark on a large journey, see how he gets on.. I think I remember you saying to let you know when Axel is 6 months before going on the group walks, he will be 5 months this coming Saturday, so I guess the end of May would be okay???
