Presumably her human didn’t notice she’d fallen overboard for some while? When we took our dogs on the boat in The Bahamas, they were securely harnessed whilst the boat was cruising and wore life jackets whilst the boat was at anchor - we were always watchful when one or more of the dogs went over the side for a swim.
