Lovely pics. Ginto absolute loved the snow! She’s still walking on what’s left of the drifts while the other 2 are enjoying terra firma . Will get some pics up when on laptop as can’t do easily off phone o🤷🏻♀️ Oh please do love looking at pictures of happy puppers ! Luna still does zoomies around whats left of the snow in our back garden, although shes now churning up the patches of swap that have been left in between lol. Could have throttled her this morning, playing in the snow at the park across from the school and a dog shes played with on occasion comes over and they have some rough and tumble. Dog decided he didnt want to play with her anymore, not sure if she nipped him or what its just like he wanted away from her and now ! so it starts running, shes thinking its a chasing game and chases the poor thing all the way out the park (he lives a couple of streets up from the park so not far to his home) I think he ran all the way home. I'm yelling at her to come back like a looney, she stops at the gate turns around and trots back to me like nothings doing meanwhile t'other dogs owner is legging it up the street after his dog. I've decided no more off leash fun in the park if other dogs are around. Shes never torn after another dog like that I don't know what got into her head, perhaps prey drive kicking in or she thought they were still playing. First instinct was to go ballistic when she came back to me but I put a lid on that as I want her to be happy to come back to me not decide 'well I'm gonna get a dressing down so I'll just stay away'. If it had been a strange dog she wouldn't have been off the lead to play but shes played with this one several times. Maybe hes decided shes grown too big for him and has gotten afraid of her ? I have no idea

🤷🏻♀️Who knows. I’ve given up asking why! Bella sometimes has enough of Ginto but she won’t give up grabbing her by throat. She plays far nicer with other dogs but they get on well enough. Think sheps do play rough. And when they chase it does look like they have full intent of taking the other dog down! 😮
As for the putting a lid on it when they return....Bella used to disappear with my friends dog who was living with us and I was walking. They’d eventually come back to where we started the walk. These expeditions could last 10mins to 45mins. Once I was waiting there with Maisie getting worried , and had done some searching, for 2 hours!!!! 2hours they’d gone funning thru the woods before coming back!!! Then I have to look pleased to see her when all I want to do is drop kick her all the way back to the house 😤😤😤. Stopped taking the other dog after that as neither one of them as bad on own but together it was a nightmare!!

Can you find a 'master' command that stops them in their tracks?? Most dogs have a command that is the most powerful - with Shep it was 'SIT!!!', for Tasha it's 'You _daaaare_ ...!!'. But it works

But it works 'HEY YOU' used to work lol I was shouting like mad but its like she totally zoned me out, but still had presence of mind to know she wasn't to step a foot over the park threshold. Its like she slammed the brakes on right at the gate even though she had only been millimeters from the other dogs butt, pulled a U turn and trotted back to me with tail swaying behind her like nothing was happening. Drop kicking would have been too good for her at that point !

Sounds good 'Oi!!' also works for us at short range and I use a loud 'NO!!!' for gates I don't want her to go through. ymmv
