Vinny will definitely be my last. We haven't got that long to go when you think about it. I said to Teresa that I was going for the family record of 106 years of age and she said that if she reached 80 that would be fine for her. I said "you only want to live another 17 years then" , the look of astonishment on her face was a picture, she just hadn't realised that it was that close.

It is a horrible thought isn't it. I'm 65 so Kira is certainly my last GSD. My niece has already said that if needs be she would take her. She and her daughter have 2 male GSDs and my nephew would also step in, so I don't worry about it because they are all very much dog orientated.

Sad to read this thread - but I guess planning makes sense. Our son would take Axel in a heartbeat, and he is also very good with animals, so our pup would be in good hands!
