We changed the car for Cooper, the big boy, then the Husky came along and then the pup last October and all change again. It was the only thing we could think of that would still allow us to take people as well as the dogs. They still have loads of space and travel well, which is a blessing.

When I had 3 dogs (before current dog safety laws) I also used to regularly baby-sit a friend's 2yr old daughter. At the time, I had a Bedford CF van (bit like a Ford Transit), which I'd put a double seat behind the driver's seat. There'd be me driving, Hayley (2yr old) in the middle, Colombo (lassieCollieXshep) in the front passenger seat, Lacey (collieXretriever) and Pepper (collieXshep) on the double behind. No harnesses, no misbehaviour - the look on policemen's faces as we drove by was priceless Used to get the same 3 dogs in an MG Midget, too

I used to drive a Ford Granada Estate, it had masses of room in the back, I used to carry three large sheps in there - no problem.
I worked for the police at the time and our office was upstairs, the car was nicknamed 'the aircraft carrier' because it was pale metallic bluey grey and when seen from above, that's what it looked like!

Before the Volvo, we had a Vauxhall Carlton estate - similarly huge. Loved that car (we had Ozzy Bear then) but we were hit by joy-riders and it was written off (not ours - pic from the interweb)

In a Midget? That's a photo I would like to see. Don't think there were any pix - this was well before digital ... Colombo in the passenger seat, the other 2 jammed behind the seats - with the hard-top on !!
